Pampanga Culinary Tour...part 3

Next up on our Pampanga Culinary Tour is the Apag Marangle. Apag Marangle is located along Olongapo Gapan road and are comprised of mini huts (that could sit 10 people comfortably per hut) in a vast fishing pond with live ducks swimming around. Dinner was comprised of Ensaladang Mangga (mangoes), Native corn soup in clay pot (a different and yummy twist to the cream of corn soup), seated chicken (we didn't get this but instead got sisig), Grilled milkfish stuffed with tomatoes (pass again on this one!), crispy pork leg (highlight of my dinner that night), vegetable medley (pass as well), ending up with coconut sherbet (a very good end I must say)

After dinner, there was also a cooking demonstration done by the owner (didnt really get to hear his name) on how a seated chicken is actually prepared and cooked

IMHO, except for the Crispy Pork Leg which is a semi-favorite of mine, the rest of the food served was nothing out of the ordinary. Im sure Apag Marangle is not solely to be blamed on this but whoever it was that suggested the menu (was it the organizer of the restaurant themselves). It was the kind of food that you could have easily ordered in the metro and not necessarily travel all the way to Pampanga to feast on. I guess the ambiance was what we should be paying for but it was night time and it was difficult to appreciate our surroundings at thta time.
